Attorney Russell M. Blood earned a degree in Economics from Brigham Young University and a law degree from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1982. He began practicing law in Casper, Wyoming later that year, where he spent the next 18 years building a successful practice and raising his family.
His Wyoming practice included estate planning, business planning, real estate, bankruptcy, and contract matters. In 2000, Russ relocated to Utah and established a practice in the southern Salt Lake Valley, where he has focused primarily on estate planning, trust administration, probate, and related matters.
Russ is a past Chair of the Estate Planning Section of the Utah State Bar and is a member of WealthCounsel, a national organization of estate planning attorneys who collaborate and share resources to better serve their clients.
Over the course of a legal career spanning more than four decades, Russ has worked with individuals and families from all walks of life. He understands that effective estate planning is about more than documents—it is about helping people provide for loved ones, prepare for life’s uncertainties, and leave behind a legacy of care and responsibility. Clients appreciate his practical approach, careful attention to detail, and ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and understandable way.
Russ believes that every client deserves a plan tailored to his or her unique circumstances and goals. Drawing on decades of experience, he helps clients navigate important decisions with confidence and peace of mind.
Russ and his wife, Susan, have been married for 50 years and have lived in the Salt Lake Valley since 2000. They are the parents of four children and grandparents of twelve grandchildren.
Outside the office, Russ enjoys following BYU athletics, serving in his church, spending time with family, and staying engaged in the ongoing study of estate planning and related areas of the law. After more than four decades in practice, he continues to find great satisfaction in helping clients bring order, clarity, and peace of mind to their personal and family affairs.
